VS, electrified wire fences, guard towers and steel gates.
Int, MSs, CUs, four naked, emaciated prisoners: two Jewish, one French, one
Polish, with numbers tattoed on their chests.
Seq: Former French prisoner in the camp conducts soldier through underground
crematorium. MSs, prisoners working in crematorium carry out bones and ashes
from furnace and dump them in nearby pit.
CU, sign over crematorium: "Disinfection.¹
LS, pan, barracks in large concentration camp.
Seq: Brig Gen Milton B Halsey of the 97th Div inspects the camp.
Seq: Soldiers and civilians digging up bodies of slave laborers, killed during
evacuation of camp, when they were unable to continue march.
