THE REPUBLICAN CONVENTION
Party convenes to nominate their choice for President. 1,309 delegates gather to choose the man who will oppose Lyndon B. Johnson. Early arrivals include Governor Nelson Rockefeller, an unsuccessful candidate, as well as Henry Cabot Lodge, Governor William Scranton, Governor George Romney and the man they sought to defeat, SENATOR BARRY GOLDWATER. All is in readiness and history will be made at the Cow Palace in one of the most crucial conventions in Republican annals.
THE ALL-STAR GAME
The skies are smiling on the crowd and on the National League as they take the field at New York's Shea Stadium in the 35th All-Star game with the American League. With the series standing at AL, 17, NL, 16, with one tie, the Nationals go on to win this one in a 9th inning cliff-hanger. With the score tied, two out and two men on, Johnny Callison steps into the first pitch - and that's all brother! The scorecards show a 7 to 4 victory for the National League and a million thrills.
